What is LEED®?
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System* is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings' performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.
In the mid 1990's, Architectural Glass & Metal, Inc. began the educational process to become more versed with the LEED, green building format. Our in-house architect, David A. Sheasley, has successfully completed various LEED certified workshops and has worked with many of our material suppliers to identify products and/or services that comply with the LEED program.
Architectural Glass & Metals, Inc. has successfully participated with the design and construction of several prestigious LEED certified and/or LEED registered projects in the West Michigan area and is currently negotiating involvement with many others.
