| Architect combines complex geometry and differing textures to challenge the visual senses.
Challenge:
To create an exterior cladding system capable of conforming to the complex geometry envisioned by the architectural design team.
Solution:
Architectural Glass & Metals worked closely with composite aluminum panel manufacturer, Riverside Group, to engineer and install custom fabricated aluminum panels. Due to the complex geometry and material interface conditions much of the exterior cladding system needed to be computer modeled in 3D to determine final dimensions prior to fabrication.
Successful installation of these complex panels can be directly attributed to a few key factors as noted below.
1. Intimate involvement of the panel manufacturer throughout the entire construction process.
2. Accurate layout and placement of substructure prior to panel installation.
3. Frequent communication with the design and construction team to ensure conformance with design intent.
