Architect utilizes aluminum composite panels as interior and exterior feature expression.

Challenge:
Create a dynamic feature wall that slices through the building envelope unifying interior and exterior spaces while maintaining weatherability, durability and material continuity.

Solution:
AGM worked closely with AMDG Architects and DVK Construction to develop and refine single-source envelope construction techniques facilitating the use of exterior cladding materials as dramatic interior feature elements. The red “Feature Wall” slices through the exterior curtainwall at an acute angle terminating deep within the building interior. The wall serves as a visual element dividing public and private spaces within the building. The unusual geometry of the feature wall is further enhanced by the 7 degree skewed orientation of the vertical and horizontal joints within the wall panel system. AGM’s early involvement throughout pre-construction planning, design and budgeting phases helped to transform the architect’s conceptual vision into an affordable solution.
