| New High school features custom fabricated steel foam panels and translucent daylighting materials.
Challenge:
Provide insulated metal panels with custom profiles and factory formed corners to be installed 80' above finish grade and to interface with translucent wall panels to provide a complete enclosure system.
Solution:
Architectural Glass & Metals worked closely with DesignWorks A|E to develop customized panel profiles and interface details as required to achieve the desired design aesthetic. By maintaining responsibility for layout and installation of substructure, AGM was able to facilitate reliable interface details. Metal panels were received and custom fabricated to meet field verified dimensions in our Kalamazoo sheet metal shop prior to jobsite delivery. Canopy panels at pedestrian walkways close to eye level were fabricated with double bends to provide sharp lines and clean / crisp looking details. Matching metal trim designed to interface with the Kalwall translucent panels or to provide weathertight closure at termination conditions was also fabricated by AGM.
